Verdigris is disrupting the building energy metering industry. Our mission is to sustain and enrich human life through the development of responsive energy intelligence systems.
We deploy proprietary hardware sensors to feed data into our powerful machine-learning software algorithms. Users can do powerful things with that data. Facilities managers can monitor critical equipment. Finance managers can track energy demand and validate efficiency projects. Sustainability managers can benchmark performance across their portfolios. Our software is simple to use and our technology is unparalleled. We are deployed across the US and globally, and often hear our clients say how impressed they are by how well our product works, saving them time and money.
Our team uses the Agile/Scrum Methodology to measure progress and build speed over time. We constantly strive to find efficiencies in everything we do – the Japanese call this principle “kaizen”. We think that a good process is better than a good result, because processes are repeatable, making results sustainable.
As a Business Operations intern, you will enable increased efficiency to help us achieve the “zen” in kaizen. You see problems and instinctively devise solutions. Inefficiencies drive you mad, so you automate everything you can. You use technology like you were born with an iPhone. You believe data = proof, so you collect, measure, analyze and use data to make more informed decisions. Above all, you’re organized, flexible, ambitious and self-motivated – and you believe in making a difference in the world.

  • Participate in bi-weekly sprint planning meetings – take notes and track tasks
  • Help us plan and measure workflow according to Scrum principles (don’t worry, we’ll teach you)
  • Help us organize information better, across systems and teams
  • Assist with core operational exercises: order processing and invoicing, people operations, etc.
  • Optimize internal processes, including using automation tools
  • Research, analyze and deliver recommendations on key issues facing the business
  • Support other functions and areas of interest to you (Business development, sales, marketing, customer success, product management and design, etc.)

  • You exude passion and enthusiasm for working in a startup culture
  • You don’t get hung up on job titles or responsibilities, and are capable and willing to go where needed
  • You speak, write and listen well
  • You are an analytical and critical thinker, with a process-oriented mindset
  • How you make decisions matters to you as much as why decisions are made
  • You bias toward action
  • You have a perspective on (and hopefully a familiarity with) the latest tools for workflow, communication, collaboration and automation – Notion, Slack, Google apps, Zapier, etc.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
