As the Director of Supply Chain, you will manage the manufacturing of Verdant’s commercial products to published production schedules. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational discipline to the Supply Chain organization while also implementing process improvements and managing overall performance.
Our core technology empowers farmers to grow more profitable food. Together with our partners, we are building environmentally friendly, sustainable, and highly productive farms.
Our office is located in Hayward, CA, about a 25 to 30-minute commute from most places in the Bay Area. We offer competitive pay and a great team environment.
The Role: Director, Supply Chain
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate all aspects of Supply Chain (production planning, procurement, inventory management, shipping, and logistics).
  • Coordinate in-house assembly and manage contract manufacturing.
  • Help maintain and track BOM and cost data.
  • Manage vendors and fabricators.
  • Identify options for reducing BOM costs.
  • Coordinate physical inventory and report inventory transactions.
  • Participate in engineering change through an ECO process.
  • Other activities as required to meet corporate schedules and goals.

Qualities & Skills - Essential

  • 5-7 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, and materials management roles.
  • Extensive ERP and Supply Chain systems experience.
  • Experience using Fishbowl for inventory management, automation, and scaling.
  • Proficiency in working concurrently in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team and independently.
  • Experience leading product delivery schedules (on-time delivery tracking).
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with vendors and internal employees.
  • Professional work ethic, high capacity, strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to operate independently.
  • Experience in sourcing and managing contract manufacturers.
  • Experience working in a manufacturer of electric motors, actuation components, or electronics/electrical components.
  • Experience working with complex engineered hardware products.
  • Strong influencer and collaborator
  • Highly entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented.

Qualities & Skills - Desirable

  • 5-10 years of experience in the electronics, robotics industry, or a similar regulated environment.
  • BS Degree in engineering, finance, or business administration, with a Masters' or MBA preferred.
  • Experience with embedded programming.
  • Experience with power electronics.
  • Experience with automotive electronics and standards.
  • Experience with verification and validation tests.
  • Demonstrated experience with systems engineering processes.
