What are we looking for?
At SentinelOne, we’re transforming one of our core systems into a scalable modern microservices architecture. To help us achieve that, we’re seeking a Senior Staff or Principal Software Engineer (senior tech lead / architect) colleague for a new key role to drive this transformation and define the next generation of our platform.
- This is a high-visibility, high-impact role, where you’ll undertake an ambitious initiative to break down a complex monolithic system written primarily in Python into a scalable, multi-tenant, cloud-native set of services, built using modern technologies and approaches. The system is part of our flagship Endpoint productline (empowering and protecting our customers, and recognized 4 times in a row as Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader).
- In this role, you will work across SentinelOne engineering organization on this re-architecture with multiple engineering and PM leaders and teams. In our area, we value collaboration, innovation, creativity, and technical excellence.
- You’ll deal with the scale of globally deployed SaaS product across 6 AWS/GCP regions, that altogether process daily petabytes of data ingested and hundreds of billions of events from tens of millions of endpoints we protect at our enterprise & public sector clients across the globe, incl. 4 of Fortune 10 & hundreds of Global 2000 companies.

What will you do?
- Architect the Future: You’ll dive deep into our current monolithic architecture, identify pain points, and design innovative solutions to address them in an iterative way. You’ll lead the design and development of a new microservices architecture that supports scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
- Modernize the Stack: You’ll collaborate with teams to evaluate and implement the right tools, frameworks, and methodologies for building a robust microservices ecosystem.
- Hands-on Development: You’ll write high-quality, production-ready code.
- Mentor and Lead: You’ll guide and mentor other engineers, contribute to their professional growth, share best practices and architectural insights, and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
- Collaborate Across Teams and Orgs: You’ll partner with other engineering, product, design, quality, DevOps/Infra teams and leadership to align on objectives, design, timelines, and execution strategies.
Our stack: Java, Go; Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, FedRAMP; GitHub Actions, ArgoCD; GitHub Enterprise; depending on requirements of the service for communication we use Kafka, REST API, GraphQL, gRPC etc.; Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse; Prometheus/Thanos, Grafana
What experience or knowledge should you bring?
- Multiple years of extensive software engineering experience, including proven expertise in architecting large-scale distributed systems and microservices architecture, with a focus on performance, scalability and reliability
- Experience in leading the transition from monolith to microservices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Java and/or Go, experience with Python is a plus
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) and Kubernetes
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts and influence engineering direction across teams, departments and stakeholders

What we offer you
Salary from 6000 EUR/month.
Yearly variable target bonus depending on the performance of the company, paid out in 2 installments.
*The final base salary component can be increased accordingly to individual skills and experience of the selected candidate.
