HARNESS MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN I

Based out of Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, California the Harness Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for building and testing components and electrical assemblies of the Rutherford rocket engine - an electric propellant pump system. Harness Manufacturing Technicians are responsible for a broad range of responsibilities including soldering, wire harnessing, PCB assembly, functional testing, operating thermal chambers, creative ideas, and offer continuous improvement recommendations.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • Follow work instructions and offer recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Speak openly and elevate concerns / recommendations to Leading Hand.
  • Think creatively, and question status quo.
  • Actively contribute to local 5S work center.
  • Identify and highlight abnormalities.
  • Complete assigned special projects and scheduled jobs. [JE1] [BM2] [JE3]
  • Manage multiple tasks and pivot onto exciting high priority tasks.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience with electrical harness assembly and testing to an Aerospace standard or equivalent high-reliability field.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience assembling per manufacturing instructions and drawings.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • 4+ years of experience with electrical harness assembly and testing.
  • Inspect PCB and wiring assemblies meet customer workmanship standards.
  • Use of specialist tools and equipment; wire strippers, HiPot Testers, DMC Hand Crimpers, Banding Tools, Automatic Wire-Stripping Machine, DMC Pneumatic Crimpers, Back shell Torquing Tools, Pin Retention Testers,
  • IPC-WHMA-A-620 certified.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

In addition to base salary, Rocket Lab offers a comprehensive total compensation package based on individual qualifications and experience, which may include cash or equity incentives. Employees will also be eligible for medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plan options, and to purchase discounted stock through Rocket Lab's Employee Stock Purchase Program.
