About the role

Launching a rocket and operating satellites requires a symphony of multiple teams, multiple sites, and multiple complex systems working together towards mission success. Software drives every aspect of this, and Rocket Lab has a large number of complex software products.

Working with Rocket Lab’s GNC team the Software Build Engineer will be responsible for the continuous integration and deployment (automation of the building, testing, and distribution) of the avionics, ground systems and production software for Rocket Lab’s GNC Launch team.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in a software development environment with major focus on build, continuous integration and deployment of software.
  • Experience with embedded software development and associated tools.
  • Git
  • Linux and Windows system administration
  • Experience with Redmine, Jira or other issue tracker
  • Experience with Team City, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, TFS CI or other build system.
  • Experience with make, cmake, automake or other build tools

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Scrum
  • Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience with web and cloud software build and deployment
  • Network security
  • Project Management
  • Chef, Puppet, Salt, Transform or other provisioning system
