About the role

Plenty is looking for a Supervisor, Production to join our Farm Operations team. Your skills and training will be applied to a new and innovative indoor vertical farming environment growing and harvesting strawberries! This is a full-time, onsite role in our Richmond, VA location. The Farm Operations team ensures that our produce and work areas are food and worker safe. In this role you will be managing a team of Crop Care Specialists and Shipping and Receiving Associates.

What you'll do

  • Supervise and assist with training employees while providing an environment for employees to achieve maximum quality and productivity performance.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving, and lineside inventory
  • Ensure WMS management and production support scheduling
  • Manage production process and employee performance, providing positive and/or progressive feedback.
  • Ensures that the team means the daily production targets and delivery schedules
  • Promote safety throughout the assigned work area.
  • Provide readouts of schedule attainment at leadership meetings
  • Review and ensure reporting requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Work with cross-functional partners ensuring a food safe and sanitary environment within specifications and SQF requirements.
  • Establish and adjust procedures meeting production schedules, production efficiencies, and budget objectives.
  • Maximize yields and throughputs while minimizing downtime, accidents and turnover through encouragement and team building.
  • Plan and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs.
  • Optimize profit reducing costs with continuous improvement activities through employee involvement and positive leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned - we’re a growing scale-up so you never know what you might get the opportunity to work on as we grow.

What you'll bring to the table

  • 5+ years relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment food/produce environments a plus5+ years relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment food/produce environments a plus
  • 3+ years’ supervisory and/or leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMPs and HACCP, experience identifying, implementing and executing environmental health and safety a strong plus
  • Proficient knowledge of production processes, general line maintenance and staffing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated success building effective teams with proven ability to lead by engaging and motivating a team and influencing an organization.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Flexible availability to provide on-call coverage 7 days a week as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle and resolve most issues independently.
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in produce freezer environments - as low as 32 degrees
  • Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
