Who we are
Odyssey is an AI lab pioneering general world models: causal, multimodal systems that learn to predict and interact with the world over long horizons. This foundational technology promises to revolutionize robotics, science, healthcare, education, gaming, defense, and beyond.
Odyssey’s founders previously pioneered the most complex application of physical AI: self-driving cars. They’ve now brought together a world-class research team from DeepMind, Tesla, Waymo, Meta, Apple, and Wayve, who have made significant contributions to language models (DeepMind Gemini), video models (DeepMind Veo), world models (Wayve GAIA), and autonomous systems (Tesla FSD).
Odyssey has raised significant venture capital from GV, Amazon, AMD, EQT, NVIDIA, Natural Capital, In-Q-Tel, Elad Gil, Jeff Dean, Guillermo Rauch, Garry Tan, Kyle Vogt, and researchers from OpenAI, DeepMind, MSL, Recursive, and Thinking Machines.
What we're looking for
Odyssey Systems is looking for its first dedicated IT owner. You'll be the go-to person for everything technology across our Palo Alto office, and provide remote support and standards for our London and Zurich offices. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you'll set IT policy, run our systems, and keep our rapidly growing team productive and secure.
What you'll do
Employee support & hardware
Own day-to-day IT support: troubleshooting, escalations, and walk-up help for the Palo Alto office; remote support for London and Zurich
Manage the full device lifecycle — procurement, imaging/MDM enrollment, deployment, repair, and retirement — for laptops, monitors, and peripherals
Run technical onboarding and offboarding: accounts, hardware, and access provisioning/deprovisioning
Maintain office AV, conference rooms, and printers
Systems & network
Own office networking: Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, VPN, and ISP/vendor relationships
Administer core SaaS: identity/SSO (e.g., Google Workspace), email, Slack, MDM, and endpoint security
Manage software licensing, renewals, and IT vendor contracts
Security & policy
Define and enforce IT security policy: device compliance, patching, MFA, access reviews
Lead security tooling rollout (endpoint protection, password management) and phishing awareness
Support compliance efforts (e.g., SOC 2) with evidence collection and control ownership
Maintain asset inventory and IT documentation
Planning
Own the IT budget and make build/buy/outsource recommendations
Plan for growth across three offices, including standardizing IT setup internationally
What we're looking for
5+ years in IT support/administration, including 2+ years owning IT (or as a senior/sole IT resource) at a company of similar size
Strong with macOS and Windows fleets, MDM (Jamf, Kandji, Intune, or similar), and identity/SSO administration
Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, firewall management
Experience selecting and managing SaaS tools and vendors
Security-minded: you patch, you enforce MFA, you sweat access reviews
Clear communicator who's patient with non-technical colleagues
Comfortable being a team of one: prioritizing, documenting, and asking for help when needed
Must be able to work 5 days week at our Palo Alto office
Nice to have
Experience supporting distributed/international offices
SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance experience
Scripting for automation (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
