Job Summary:
MycoWorks is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of the business through increased sales and customer acquisition. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in developing client relationships, as well as a strong background in enterprise sales, contract negotiation, and financial modeling. This role requires a dynamic individual who can collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, and other departments to drive growth and execute the company's strategic vision.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and nurture existing client relationships, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identify and explore potential markets and territories for business expansion.
- Initiate professional outreach to potential clients, building lasting business connections.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to expand our market reach.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, staying poised to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet and exceed sales targets and drive growth.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of our products, services, and competitive positioning.
- Contribute to financial modeling efforts, aiding in long-term planning and key partner relationships.
- Collaborate with the Legal department to draft and finalize contracts that protect our interests.
- Stay well-informed about market trends and consumer behavior to inform business strategies.
- Leverage expertise in technical markets, exploring potential avenues in leisure, athletic footwear, and tech.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving corporate goals through meticulous execution.
- Efficiently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Adapt to ad-hoc assignments as necessary to support our business goals.
Requirements:
- Five-plus years of experience in a client-facing role
- Experience within the luxury industry is a plus.
- MBA or equivalent degree.
- Agile in financial modeling and financial analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Creative and strategic thinking.
- Self-motivated and target-driven.
- Familiarity with textiles and innovative materials, with a preference for experience in leather.
- Knowledge of mass market production requirements and timelines.
- Proficiency in Excel and retail mathematics.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Experience with highly technical markets (leisure, athletic footwear, tech and automotive)
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (30-40%).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency in G-Suite, Monday.com, and Slack is a plus.
