As a Receiving Specialist with Impulse, your primary responsibilities will involve efficient material flow through our shipping and receiving area. We will rely on you for effective receipt of parts used for aerospace applications (mechanicals, electronics, raw materials, adhesives/chemicals, etc.), as well as shipment to customers, third party processors, and/or other sites. Aside from aerospace materials, you will also be managing the receipt of materials used for production like consumables, indirect goods, and/or facilities equipment. Whether it's managing flight hardware, handling logistics, or improving inventory systems, your work directly contributes to launching groundbreaking missions beyond Earth.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute receiving workflows that align with aerospace best practices, emphasizing accuracy, traceability, compliance.
  • Execute shipping workflows to ship parts to our customers, to outsource processors, and/or to other sites.
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders, certificates of conformance, and packing lists.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers and suppliers to resolve any inspection discrepancies or issues related to receiving operations.
  • Develop procedures for proper staging, labeling, and segregation of flight and non-flight hardware.
  • Partner with supply chain, quality, and production teams to build clear processes for discrepancy resolution and material routing.
  • Prepare outbound shipments with accurate documentation and packaging in compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and maintain ERP/WMS receiving records to ensure end-to-end traceability.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to refine receiving and shipping processes as production volume scales.
  • Develop and implement ways to streamline processes site-wide, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the shipping and receiving domain
  • Promote and enforce safety standards in all warehouse and dock operations. Perform general housekeeping, safety, and 5S practices in the work area, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Efficiently handle the receipt, storage, and issuance of a wide variety of parts, materials, and hardware to support operations, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly stored in designated locations
  • Operate forklifts, pallet-jacks and other material-handling equipment as necessary for the movement, conveyance, or hoisting of shipments as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain position, with a preference for receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to develop or improve receiving processes in alignment with regulatory, quality, or customer requirements.
  • Familiarity with aerospace documentation(certificates of conformance, MSDS, AS9100/ISO standards)
  • Strong ERP/WMS systems skills and ability to build accurate data entry and traceability practices.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and communication skills with a “process-builder” mindset.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including overtime and weekends as needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted and perform physical activities including lifting, standing, climbing, bending, and walking for up to 75% of the shift time
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
