As a Sr. Supply Chain Planner at Impulse, you will work with engineering, supply chain sourcing team, and production to support material and vehicle hardware planning to aid the design and manufacturing of our spacecrafts. You will be responsible for master scheduling and demand planning at the program and sub-assembly level for fulfillment of critical vehicle hardware and production enabling components.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain BOM configurations and vehicle configurations.
  • Investigate and initiate data integrity related to PO’s, receipts, inventory, revisions, work orders, and demand signals.
  • Generate demand signals based on inputs from BOMs, inventory, accurate lead times, build schedule, procurement activities, and open work orders to ensure clear to build for production.
  • Thorough and detailed management of multiple top-level configurations of vehicles into MRP and coordination with components planner for sub-assemblies to ensure accurate signals are triaged and actioned.
  • Drive strategic decision making for sourcing, make/buy, delivery, and production schedule for both pathfinder builds and production ramp.
  • Manage an efficient New Product Introduction with engineering, supply chain, and production to not only enable build start, but also to support production, test, and integration readiness.
  • Make critical risk decisions for high cost and long lead components within an early design environment to ensure parts are delivered on time, while minimizing expenditures.
  • Support in procurement activities such as quoting and PO issuance if needed.
  • Monitor receipts, purchase orders, inventory, BOM revision configuration, and work order accuracy to drive clean demand signals.
  • Collaborate with production and manufacturing engineering to understand production and build schedule on pathfinder builds and products.
  • Flow down status and action drivers or blockers to all stakeholders to enable proactive communication and teamwork.
  • Top level assembly configurations of new designs and upkeep BOM configuration to match MRP.
  • Work with design & manufacturing engineers to populate and maintain the bill of materials
  • Manage forecasting of parts from multiple teams and disciplines through numerous suppliers to meet schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience working with engineering, material/production planning, operations/supply chain management, or master scheduling
  • 4+ years’ demonstrated experience working with ERP or inventory systems
  • 2+ years’ experience procuring and managing vendor relations

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years’ working in purchasing, contract negotiations, material, production planning, or master production scheduling within a production/manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes related to mechanical components
  • Detail-oriented, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboard tools to automate repetitive daily tasks
  • Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed and accuracy
  • Strong track record of leadership and team building skills
  • Lean or continuous improvement experience or ability to build dashboard tools to eliminate repetitive daily tasks
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and ability to prioritize efforts to meet customer and company goals
  • Strong technical ability to read drawings and blueprints, understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external supplier relationships in a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
  • Value add engineering abilities that improve part quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, highly self motivated.
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated and tracked results compared to goals.
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge and skills in coding and computer applications, (e.g. MS Office Suite, VBA, Smartsheet, SQL, Confluence, JIRA, Power BI, etc.)

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
