About the role
Halter is one of the world’s fastest-growing agritech companies, and the most transformative technology available in pasture-based grazing. With Halter’s cattle collars and app, graziers can virtually fence and shift their cattle, as well as proactively monitor cattle locations and behaviour. We’re looking for an exceptional leader to establish and scale our Queensland business. This is a rare chance to build on existing demand and unlock expansion.

Halter in Australia
Halter started in New Zealand and is one of the fastest-growing companies in New Zealand. Halter’s customer base expands across New Zealand, Australia and the US.
In Australia, Halter entered Tasmania 20 months ago and has rapidly expanded to now have 20% of the state’s dairy herd with Halter - a thriving customer base, managed by a talented local team.
Queensland is an incredible growth opportunity for Halter; it’s a world-leading beef market with over 10 million cattle and some of the largest stations in the world. The market opportunity for Halter is vast and the need for a high-quality product is clear. Farmers, graziers, environmental and industry groups are looking to virtual fencing to improve productivity and sustainability. Halter’s product brings a world-leading solution to this market. In July we launched our first Queensland customer and over the coming months we are launching many more. We are recruiting the core team to lead this expansion.
In Victoria, NSW and South Australia, Halter does not yet have customers but there is a groundswell of demand for Halter across thousands of farmers. In Australia, virtual fencing is regulated by individual states’ animal welfare legislation. Currently, Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia have legislation that does not permit farmers to use high-quality virtual fencing technology. This legislation was set years before Halter existed, and virtual fencing technology has advanced considerably in recent years. These states are now reviewing their legislation and we are actively engaging with governments around modernizing this legislation.
