About this role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to work on consumer software applications for the Develocity, and Gradle Build Tool platforms, as well as all other design needs for the organization. The ideal candidate will love solving problems, be a self-starter, and be an excellent communicator with a passion for phenomenal design and the ability to achieve it. We are looking for designers who possess a rare blend of interaction design, visual design, and prototyping skills.

By constantly focusing on the consumer, you’ll create products that are not only amazing to look at, but also intuitive and useful to millions of developers and companies worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of design projects from conception through to implementation.
  • Work closely with members of the Applications design team, as well as our engineering, marketing, and QA groups.
  • Be a key player in resolving the future design direction of Gradle’s consumer applications.
  • We are looking for a transformational designer who is ready to and capable of taking software design to the next level.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience designing desktop applications.
  • Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles.
  • Tried proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Lottie, or other design tools.
  • Ability to do rapid prototyping in Figma.
  • You can quickly grasp and distill highly technical matters into clean, understandable solutions.
  • Proficiency in helping build/evolve a design system.
  • Extraordinary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent collaborative skills.
  • Capable of working in a highly structured organization.
  • Highly professional, with the ability to deliver work on a tight schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in human interaction sociology, psychology, interaction design, visual design, or equivalent.
  • Formal training in user interface design principles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces in a complex and highly technical product domain.
  • Experience working with app development teams during design, implementation, and quality assurance.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in written and verbal English.

Compensation

We offer competitive salaries and equity grants to all team members.

The US salary range for this position is USD 120-180k and reflects the target ranges for all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by geographic location and additional factors including but not limited to experience, relevant skills, qualifications, seniority, performance, and travel requirements.
