The Operations team at GenEdit is seeking a Part-time Accounting Clerk to be responsible for maintaining records of financial transactions. Acting under the direction of the SVP of Operation, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for classifying and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete. They also may need to check the accuracy of business transactions recorded by other co-workers.
Accounting background (2+ years accounting work experience) or college major
Managing accounting department operations (G/L, A/R, A/P)
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls
Experience with AP, journal entries and reconciliation
Experience with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com preferred
Experience in biotechnology or startup company a plus
Desired Skill Set:
Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, recording accounts receivables data and other tasks related to invoicing/billing as required
Identifying discrepancies and resolve any billing or payment issues
Tracking project expenses efficiently and accurately by matching Purchase Orders, invoices and credit card transactions
Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accounting Dept. reconcile inaccuracies
Classifying, recording, and summarizing numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals and ledgers or computers
Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accounting Dept. of errors
Connecting and following up with vendors for payments and reimbursements
Proactive, resourceful, self-starter with high integrity and accountability; able to work well independently and in team environment
Ability to interact effectively with management, team members, and peers
