- Evaluate product behavior across on-device software, hardware modules, and Portal connectivity.
- Validate new features, enhancements, and integrations for correctness, usability, and performance.
Automated Testing Contribution
- Shape automation strategy alongside automation engineers.
- Identify test cases for automation based on risk, regression frequency, and system impact.
- Develop or extend automated tests for functional, integration, and simulation-based testing.
Networking & Communications Testing
- Validate Wi-Fi and Ethernet communication between scanners, tablets, and Evolv’s Portal.
- Analyze and debug network issues involving packet loss, interference, latency, or connectivity failures.
- Use tools such as Wireshark, iPerf, and other utilities to inspect traffic, capture traces, and diagnose protocol behavior.
Areas you will evaluate:
- 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax)
- Wi-Fi roaming, SNR, RSSI, and interference
- WPA2/WPA3 security behavior
- DHCP, DNS, NAT, port forwarding
- Network load, throughput, jitter, and latency characteristics
Defect Analysis, Troubleshooting & Quality Reporting
- Lead bug triage, isolate root causes, and collaborate with development to find solutions.
- File precise, high-quality defect reports with reproducible steps and clear analysis.
- Communicate risk and release readiness to product, engineering, and leadership teams.
Release Coordination & Quality Gates
- Support or lead release-readiness testing and validation.
- Ensure releases meet quality gates, coverage requirements, and reliability standards.
- Partner with Release Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to maintain alignment on quality expectations and timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, hardware engineers, product managers, and automation engineers.
- Provide early feedback during feature planning to reduce downstream risk.
- Contribute to documentation, training materials, and continuous process improvement.
