Internship Title: SQA Automation Intern
The Elevator Pitch
Do you want to develop automation for Quality Assurance testing of a ML/AI weapons detection system? Are you interested in embedded systems and electrical and mechanical development and integration?
In this 10 week Quality Assurance intern role, you will help to develop the next generation of simulation test hardware and software to exercise our Express weapons scanner. Not only will you have the opportunity to work across different engineering functions, but also develop skills in both hardware and software as well as test approaches.
This internship is a 10 week program: June 9nd – August 15th
Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes will you work toward completing? :
In the first 5 weeks, you will:
- Understand Evolv, our product and culture, what we do, and why we do it
- Understand the test challenges and requirements for the Express product
- Identify and document requirements for the next generation of one of our test tools
- Develop and test a new solution that meets the requirements
- Verify and deploy the tool for use in the Express test process.
- Be part of a team of Quality Engineers working on multiple products
In the last 5 weeks, you will:
- Demonstrate the solution to an audience across the company
- Document and communicate the test harness changes
- Use the test harness to help quality production software releases
- Have a better idea of what you want or don’t want out of your career
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Technical development in the areas of ++, AWS services, database and python
- In 2 weeks, be comfortable navigating existing test automation device and codebase
- In 6 weeks, have collected the requirements and implemented and tested prototype solutions
- In 10 weeks, create a packaged version of the automated test harness with device/software
Team engagement/Teamwork
- Engage in team meetings, know who's who, and be comfortable reaching out to anyone on the team
- In 6 weeks, the team will recognize you as a QA automation contributor
- In 10 weeks, you will be a vital part of the team

You will be joining the SQA team and reporting to the Director of SQA.

Where is the role located?
The location of this role is based in Waltham, MA with some flexibility in being remote some days. We require our interns to be onsite at a minimum, 4 days of the work week. We do not provide relocation assistance at this time.
What is the pay range?
The hourly pay range for this internship position is $20-$27 an hour. Our pay ranges are determined by your current level of education.
