The Elevator Pitch:

If so, Evolv is seeking an experienced and product-oriented Developer interested in a leadership role to join our highly skilled team of designers and developers to help bring new digital products to market.

We continuously experiment with new tools, but our core tech stack is ReactJS, ReactNative, TypeScript, fp-ts, RxJS, TailwindCSS, Cypress, and Amazon Web Services.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

In the first 30 days, you will:

  • Immerse yourself in Evolv's market, users, and existing product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other developers through pair programming to familiarize yourself with our codebases and tech stack for client-side applications.
  • Start shipping working software to our users and customers
  • Embrace and implement test-driven, type-safe, functional, and reactive programming
  • Work closely with our product thinkers and designers to transform novel problems into tangible features and contribute to their implementation and release
  • Participate in user testing to validate and refine the features you've built

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Take ownership of a whole project, developing major features and critical user workflows
  • Start leading the technical strategy and development of significant new features, driving our innovation forward
  • Mentor junior developers, sharing your expertise in web development and product design best practices
  • Help establish and drive best practices for the design and development of our digital products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand new challenges and identify practical solutions
  • Ensure that your team is set up for success, helping keep the team aligned on the most critical business goals

By the end of the first year, you will:

  • Successfully deliver new digital products to our ever-growing user base
  • Lead a focused team of designers and developers, guiding important projects to fruition
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new tools and development techniques, bringing current industry best practices to Evolv
  • Earn recognition outside of Engineering as the go-to person for design and development questions

  • Actively participate in the design process
  • Actively participate in the implementation process
  • Lean and minimized processes with weekly iterations, enabling frequent shipping
  • Embrace continuous delivery and prioritize early user feedback
  • Foster a collaborative environment with ample pair programming opportunities
  • Remote-friendly, with the option for in-person collaboration
  • Embrace both synchronous and asynchronous work styles
  • All team meetings are optional, giving you the autonomy to manage your time effectively
  • Based on US Eastern Time zone, allowing for cohesive collaboration

  • The location of this role is based out of our HQ in Waltham, MA, with flexibility in being remote some days.

What is the salary range?

The base salary range for this full-time position is $119,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
