Job Title: Director of Business Applications and Data

Evolv is seeking a Director of Business Applications and Data responsible for the management, security, and effectiveness of the data the business relies upon. This role will join the Information Technology team at Evolv’s corporate office in Waltham, MA. Evolv is a fast-growing company, and it is essential that our IT and CyberSecurity program can deliver secure solutions that enable growth while not disrupting innovation. This position will report to the VP of Cybersecurity and IT, which is a key role in enabling innovative and secure application solutions across the company.


Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Within 3 months, you will

  • Get to know the IT team along with the technologies currently in use
  • Learn the compliance commitments and how best to support these efforts
  • Develop trust-based relationships to understand the businesses goals
  • Implement and improve processes to enable the business use of data and applications
  • Evaluate the business needs for improved integrations and data warehouse
  • Take on responsibility for applications administration and evaluation of new software solutions
  • Familiarize yourself with the IT team’s procedures and the applications they currently support

By the end of the first year, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality IT services that continue to enable Evolv’s growth and success
  • Manage integration of Evolv system’s data
  • Understand and fulfill the businesses’ needs for applications and quality data
  • Identify improvements to our existing applications and how they are used
  • Continuous compliance with SOX (Sarbanes Oxley), SOC2, and other standards
  • Plan, budget, and execute the IT applications roadmap

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing regularly?

  • Implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the applications that enable Evolv’s business.
  • Work closely with IT, finance, people operations, marketing, and other teams at Evolv on the integration of business applications and the data that powers them
  • Building and maintaining integration platforms
  • Evaluating and maintaining the data warehouse
  • Develop data integrations and data warehousing for ERP, CRM, and service management systems.
  • Build relationships with our users to best identify where our supported application may be falling short, recommend potential enhancements, and improve the effective use of existing applications.
  • Document procedures and teach the Evolv employees and staff how to utilize our applications for best practices
  • Implementing business solutions in a forward-thinking and user-focused manner. This includes delivering iterative improvements in consultation with the business, technology, and other operational support teams.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team?

  • You will be joining the Cybersecurity and IT organization as a direct report of the VP of Cybersecurity and IT.
  • Evolv and this team are cross-functional with a focus on helping reduce risk and improve the use of technology throughout the organization.

Where is the role located?

  • The location of this role is flexible. With a company HQ in Waltham, MA this role can successfully be located within the continental US for someone with the ability to spend 4-8 days a month at the HQ location.
