Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

Architect, build and design, high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
Lead automation tools and framework development that leverages AI and large language model (LLM) capabilities to accelerate development with high-quality results
Partner with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.
Identify gaps in existing developer workflow and address them by building solutions using ServiceNow platform, plugins, frameworks and automation tools for a variety of projects
Implement software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
Be an advocate for automating everything within engineering organization
Mentor colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, testing, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry
10+ years hands-on coding and scripting experience using OO languages such as Java.
5+ years of experience in designing and building large scale enterprise software.
Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
Expert in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
Exceptional debugging, testing, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with any of the modern UI frameworks like Angular, React and UI testing framework
Ability to use tools to assist with daily tasks (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, profilers, Unix tools, shell scripting)
Solid knowledge of working with Jenkins/Gradle/Maven or similar
