This role is within The Platform and AI Technology Organization(PLATO) and is the engineering organization behind single, unifying and intelligent platform for all ServiceNow businesses, customers and partners to build their products and applications. We are global software engineering organization with more than 2,000 Software Engineers of various skills located across the globe. We build the foundation for new and innovative ServiceNow products to enable our customers’ success. The Platform Analytics team is part of the PLATO organization with strong focus on in-platform analytical capabilities. Our mission is "We empower digital enterprises to take informed action through contextualized insights". When we are creating our products, we think about the customer problems first and then we engineer our solutions end-to-end:
- How do we query data from all our data sources in scalable end performant way?
- How do we allow easy and simple configuration to all our users?
- How do we present this data to the user so that it can be understood easily?
- How do we drive what actions user would take from the data?
All of the above is important to create analytical solutions that work for all the users. As a Director of Software Engineering, you will have the opportunity to lead Software Engineering Managers and influence their teams of engineers. Our Engineering processes involves working with a combination of Product Management, User Experience, Product Content and other teams across the platform BU and our wider businesses to evolve our Platform Analytics products. While Reporting to Engineering Leadership, your team of Software Engineering Managers will be responsible for contributing to and maintaining several products, components, APIs, tools and specifications within the Platform Analytics portfolio. You will guide the team in shaping the roadmap, driving collaboration across the cross-functional teams and most importantly empower and support the teams to effectively and efficiently execute. You will work with other teams at PLATO to ensure alignment of Platform Analytics efforts with and delivery of comprehensive, end-to-end analytical capabilities that work for everyone.
In this role, you will play a major part in building Platform Analytics products that focus on visually rich Data Analytics capabilities such as dashboards, data visualizations, reporting and other re-usable analytical capabilities and building blocks that can facilitate embedding and self-service across all our products on top of the ServiceNow Platform in order to bring analytical value deep in the core of products and applications. We have built a new experience on top of the latest ServiceNow technologies with a completely fresh approach to User Experience. The expectation is that any user, regardless of technical and analytical knowledge, can use the in-platform analytics in the enterprise setting in a simple and quick manner. We are just getting started with our early-adopter customers and we need your help in further refining and making available our amazing range of analytical capabilities and building blocks to our customer base of over 10,000 enterprise customers around the world.
The Successful candidate will:
- Manage, mentor and lead a globally distributed team of managers and engineers
- Manage various projects and cross-team collaboration
- Work with the cross-functional team to build visions, strategies and roadmaps with soring focus on prioritization; balance the right amount of structure and planning for a fast-paced engineering team
- Be a role model for your team
- Build the best dashboarding and data visualization capabilities that allow our platform users, applications users and really anyone to tell their analytical story to various audiences, from executives down to operations.
- Power our analytical capabilities with an ability to operate across variety of data sources, inside and outside of ServiceNow so that we can democratize the data and activate learnings from it
- Create world class user experiences using the latest and greatest ServiceNow technology stack that is redefining how world will work with ServiceNow
