Job Description

Responsibilities/Opportunity:

  • Identifying solutions for outages or performance improvements on the ServiceNow platform will be a key aspect of your role.
  • Your responsibilities will involve reviewing Javascript, Java, and Python application code to address performance issues, as well as contributing to the definition of best practices for high-performing code among developers.
  • Be a problem solver and good at self learning utilizing software developer skill (Java/Javascript) and experience. Understand GitHub repository and Java compilation and package process.
  • Utilizing tools such as BigData, Splunk, and others, you'll analyze metrics and recognize trends in transactional throughput, memory usage, CPU performance, and job processing. Your goal will be to devise self-detect and self-healing solutions.
  • Employing database optimization skills, you will fine-tune databases, implement indexes, manage tables and data, and interpret execution plans to recommend improved query structures.
  • Collaboration and coordination between various internal teams, including Development, QE, Platform, SWAT, and Release Engineering Teams, will be a vital part of your role.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skillset:

  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience, with a dedicated 5 years in a Performance Engineering role, along with a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Strong Java development experience, good understanding of JVM, Java garbage collector and Java compiling/packaging procedure.
  • Details oriented engineer who can sense subtle changes. Proven expertise in debugging and triaging complex issues within a multi-tier architecture.
  • Solid experience in one or more scripting languages, including JavaScript, Python, and Shell.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, have a good understanding of MySQL and Postgres.
  • Ability to profile CPU and memory consumption or analyze raw dumps, including familiarity with profiling, traces, thread dumps, and debug logs.
  • Fundamental knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and ITIL.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud platforms and associated technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • The ability to comprehend and articulate solutions for complex problems.
  • Working experience with middleware such as Kafka, RMQ, and Load Balancers is considered an additional advantage.
  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and/or data centers is considered an additional advantage.
