The Market Operations Associate will play a critical role in real-time market monitoring, surveillance, and operational support while contributing to the firm's broader mission of building highly automated and efficient market operations systems. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and works closely with Compliance and Technology teams. This role is uniquely suited for someone who has thrived in both the structured, high-pressure world of top-tier trading firms and the hands-on operational challenges of leading derivatives exchanges. As a Market Operations Associate, you’ll do more than monitor and maintain systems—you’ll build, improve, and operate critical processes.
After 1–2 years, you’ll have the opportunity to select your area of focus within a structured rotation program. Whether it’s diving into product development, contributing to executive strategy, or working within financial leadership, the program is designed to align with your interests and goals, helping you build a well-rounded career in a dynamic, fast-evolving industry.
Real-Time Market Monitoring & Surveillance
Monitor real-time trading activity and market conditions during market hours (8am-9pm ET)
Evaluate price adjustments and trade cancellation requests according to established procedures
Document and escalate suspicious activity to Compliance when warranted
Maintain detailed logs of all market events and actions taken
Building and Optimizing Processes
Collaborate with the Technology team to automate market surveillance tools and create actionable alerts
Write and refine Python scripts for data analysis and operational reporting
Develop dashboards and visualization tools to improve market monitoring workflows
Identify inefficiencies and proactively implement solutions to enhance automation and scalability
Operational Support
Support daily operations including trading hours, system status monitoring
Assist with participant onboarding and support
Coordinate with Compliance on investigations and information requests
Help prepare regular reports for management and regulators
Participate in business continuity planning and testing
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
2+ years' experience of operating in derivatives trading or related role.
Proven ability to deliver results in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, or related languages for automation and reporting.
Experience developing dashboards or tools for real-time monitoring and analysis.
A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing scalable solutions.
Eagerness to work in a startup environment and contribute to a growing business.
You have experience with financial services or trading systems infrastructure
