At Databricks we are on a mission to empower our customers to solve the world's toughest data problems with the Data Intelligence Platform. As a Delivery Solutions Architect (DSA), you will play an important role during this journey. You will collaborate with our sales and field engineering teams to accelerate the adoption and growth of the Databricks platform in your accounts. As a DSA, you will help ensure customer success in their use cases by providing the required architecture support and technical depth, also leveraging other internal teams to assist some of our most complex customers who need that guidance to accelerate usage on Databricks workloads that they have already selected.

This is a hybrid technical and commercial role. It is technical in the sense that you are expected to become the post-sales technical lead across all Databricks products and committed customer workloads on their path to live. This requires you to use your skills and technical credibility to engage and communicate at all levels with an organization. This is in parallel to being commercial, in the sense that you will own and drive growth in your assigned customers and committed use cases through leading your customers’ stakeholders, owning technical relationships and orchestrating other internal teams as needed, identifying other opportunities, with an ability to plan and tenacity as important skills.

You will report to a DSA manager and be part of Field Engineering.

The impact you will have:

  • You will collaborate with Account Executives and Solutions Architects to understand the Use Case Demand Plan and areas of focus for your customers, leading the post-Technical Win technical account strategy and execution plan for committed use cases.
  • Operate as an expert in Data, Analytics and AI, being the accountable technical architect assigned to committed use cases, creating certainty from uncertainty and de-risking implementations by driving platform onboarding, bringing in technical enablement, removing technical blockers and guide on architectural best practices, leading to successful go-lives and healthy consumption of the workloads where the customer has made the decision to use Databricks.
  • Scale best practices by authoring reference architectures, how-to’s, reusable assets, and grow your knowledge and expertise to the level of a technical delivery specialist.
  • You will be the first contact for any technical issues with ongoing customer use cases or questions related to their progress and status.
  • Leverage other Databricks teams, like Shared Technical Services, Learning and Enablement, Support, Professional Services and Specialist Solution Architects to build the right tasks that are beyond your scope of activities or expertise.
  • Create, own and execute a point-of-view as to how key use cases can be accelerated into production.
  • Navigate Databricks Product/Engineering teams for new Product capabilities, Public/Private Previews and Upgrade needs.
  • Provide internal and external updates - reporting on the status of usage and customer health, covering investment status, important risks, product adoption and use case progression - to your leadership.

What we look for:

  • 7+ years of experience where you have been accountable for technical project / program delivery in Data, Analytics and AI and where you can also actively contribute to technical debate and architectural design choices with our customers.
  • Programming experience in Python and SQL.
  • Experience in a customer-facing post-sales, technical architecture or consulting role.
  • Experience with architecture of Data, Analytics and AI solutions in the Cloud (AWS, Azure, and/or Google).
  • An understanding of how to attribute business value/outcomes to specific project deliverables.
  • Technical program management experience including account, stakeholder and resource accountability.
  • Experience resolving complex and important escalations with senior customer decision makers.
  • Experience running workshops, creating roadmaps, running regular cadence calls, and managing delivery of complex programmes/projects
  • Track record of overachievement against quota, goals or similar objective targets.
