About the role:

The quality engineer is responsible for supporting our business plans to improve the manufacturing processes and increase production output. Duties include creating the company's quality standards and testing systems to reflect manufacturing capability, efficiency and performance. The quality engineer is also responsible for the creation of processes and documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution.

About the work:

  • Responsible for supporting quality KPIs and plans for improving manufacturing quality
  • Support manufacturing quality by developing and improving processes, procedures and training aligned with company and industry quality standards
  • Develop and improve critical to quality methods to measure and produce manufacturing quality
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for changes to designs and processes
  • Collaborate with engineering and supply chain to develop and improve supplier quality
  • Ensure products adhere to company quality standards prior to shipments
  • Assess manufacturing processes to develop plans to increase product quality and capability
  • Develop and implement a system to measure and ensure manufacturing conformance throughout the manufacturing process
  • Use statistical techniques to track and continuously improve quality and predictability
  • Collect data and generate quality reports for manufacturing and supply chain to identify areas of improvement

About you:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline plus 3+ years relevant experience in product manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of QMS, and developing and improving policies and SOPs
  • Strong knowledge of NPI quality requirements with a hardware manufacturing company
  • Extensive experience using quality tools and methods (FAI, PPAP, 6S, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, etc.)
  • Proficiency using statistical applications (JMP, Matlab, Tableau, SPC for Excel, etc) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a customer service culture
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment as well drive projects/tasks independently
  • Experience leading lean manufacturing and training initiatives a plus
