About the Role:

The Manufacturing Assembly Technician is a non-exempt hourly role responsible for the assembly, inspection, and testing of our robots and supporting products.

About the Work:

  • Assembles, tests, and inspects mechanical and electromechanical assemblies using procedures, drawings, and checklists to meet quality standards and production schedules
  • Performs work with a strong commitment to safety, quality, schedule, and teamwork
  • Works with a professional, respectful, collaborative, and positive attitude
  • Maintains a commitment to customer experience and continuous improvement
  • Supports maintaining a safe, clean, organized work area; promptly reporting issues or suggestions for improving quality, process, productivity, cost, safety, and teamwork
  • Accurately enters assembly and test data, and creates reports using MES and other business software as required
  • Ability to support new products, and process change by accurately and carefully building and documenting new assembly processes with little instruction, provide DFX feedback to improve new designs, quality, ergonomics, safety, manufacturability and productivity

About You:

  • 2 years minimum hands-on mechanical/electromechanical assembly experience (preferably in a Lean, high-tech manufacturing company)
  • 2-year technical degree, or HS diploma (or equivalent) with 2+ years applicable work experience
  • Able to demonstrate mechanical assembly aptitude, or show examples from prior work or life experience (pictures or physical examples acceptable)
  • Capable and comfortable in the correct use of basic hand and power tools, as well as basic inspection instruments (e.g. calipers, micrometers, and digital multimeters)
  • Capable of interpreting mechanical part/assembly drawings and technical procedures
  • Ability to identify and document component and assembly data, non-conformances, interpret data, and provide recommendations for process improvement
  • Must be computer literate and able to learn and use software (e.g. G-Suite, Jira, etc.)
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs, have excellent visual acuity and dexterity to assemble small parts in a attention to detailed, and repeatable manner
  • Must be highly responsible, self-driven, and effectively work both independently and with a team.
  • Electrical assembly experience a strong plus
