AbCellera is breaking the barriers of conventional drug development to propel antibody-based medicines from target to clinic. We are a team of scientists, engineers, creatives, and business professionals who believe that advancing science enhances lives. We have developed technologies to unlock high-value drug targets, including antibody-drug conjugates and T-cell engagers for cancer, and complex transmembrane proteins for indications such as metabolic and endocrine conditions, pain, and autoimmunity.

We are seeking a responsible and conscientious individual with a passion for supporting laboratory workflows to join our dynamic Cell Screening group. You will contribute to screening of single cells by providing hands-on support to day-to-day operations, with a focus on primary cell isolation and reagent preparation. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s top biotech companies, while growing with a team that believes in collaboration, innovation, and mutual support.

How you might spend your days

  • Supporting the high-throughput screening of single cells in collaboration with project teams to meet deliverables and timelines
  • Preparing cell isolates from primary sources
  • Contributing to development and execution of cell enrichment protocols
  • Preparing, labelling, and aliquoting common lab reagents to support cell screening workflows
  • Maintaining cell stocks and freezer inventories
  • Collaborating with lab management teams to organize, order, and maintain common inventories and reagents
  • Performing lab organization and maintenance tasks
  • Maintaining and implementing standard operating procedures while recognizing and addressing opportunities for improvements
  • Gaining expertise in routine cell screening procedures and growing your technical skill set

We'd love to hear from you if

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and experience working in a laboratory environment
  • You enjoy bench work and are looking for an opportunity to hone your technical skill set
  • You are able to accommodate a 7am to 3pm schedule
  • You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment and enjoy working with a diverse team of colleagues
  • You take pride in being self-motivated, a fast learner, and a team player, with strong interpersonal skills
  • You have excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills, as well as impeccable attention to detail
  • You have experience with, or an interest in learning, mammalian tissue isolation, processing, and cell culture techniques

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $52,300 - $65,400 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.

You will have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits. Scientific and technical mentorship is a priority. And you’ll find we prioritize teams and social groups to build community and connections across AbCellera.
