AbCellera is a young, energetic, and rapidly growing tech company with an amazing team that searches, decodes, and analyzes natural immune systems to find antibodies that its partners can develop into drugs to prevent and treat disease. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience relevant to the characterization and development of antibody therapeutics in our new location at Chesterford Research Park, UK. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and self-directed scientist, a team-player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment with multiple competing priorities, and above all, someone who is excited to learn and grow with us.

How you might spend your days:

Working with our highly motivated team on projects related to the identification of high-quality antibodies. The scope of the work may include the development of in vitro assays that include various mammalian cell lines and primary cells, and the design of complex functional assays
Optimizing and troubleshooting the development of screening assays for high-throughput antibody discovery and antibody validation
Developing assays and cutting-edge technologies for antibody discovery against challenging targets
Designing, planning, and executing experiments, either independently or in collaboration with your teammates
Analyzing and presenting data to colleagues, and communicating project updates and deliverables to stakeholders
Solving problems at a high level
Maintaining and implementing standard operating procedures while recognizing opportunities for improvements and innovation
Organizing, supporting and collaborating with other team members to meet project deliverables and timelines

Required qualifications and experience:

PhD in Biological Sciences/ Immunology or MSc with 4-6 years work experience in a relevant field
Demonstrated experience in cell biology and data analysis
Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assay development
Experience in the development of antibody-based assays, flow cytometry or microscopy
An understanding of the mechanisms related to autoimmune or inflammatory disease is desirable
Experience working with bi-specific antibodies, in the context of oncology or autoimmunity, would be an advantage
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent documentation and organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively Re
